Our 501 C3 is called Katie's Club. While Katie’s Club is a new charity the bike ride we host Tour de Brew QC is not. Tour de Brew QC is an annual event. 2020 will be the 7th year for Tour de Brew QC. We started the ride in 2014 in the Quad Cities with a simple agenda to help our neighbors and bring attention cancer services in the area. Our ride started with 110 riders and in 2018 we had 563 riders from 9 states and 93 cities. Despite Historic flooding in 2019 the ride went forward and we are coming back in 2020 bigger and better then ever. In 2020 we will host a Trivia night on February 21 and Tour de Brew QC is expanding to include not only a bike ride but also a pub crawl.
Katie's Club provides information about Cancer services to families with Cancer. Katie's Club supports and advocate for organizations that provide services to support the cancer patient and their family for the whole cancer journey.
We don't want to reinvent the wheel as an organization. We want to partner, promote and support existing programs whenever possible. If you know of a national cancer program that should be in the Quad Cities, contact us and we will work to help them have a presence in our communities. Cancer Sucks -the journey does not have to when there are resources available to support the person.
While we all have a cancer story Katie is the daughter of founding member Tina who beat cancer by choosing to live each day to the fullest during her 382 day battle with an inoperable brain tumor.
